I would most certainly be the drummer of this band. I feel the lead singer would have to be coach V. I feel he could really hit those high notes.

Which coach would win a dance-off at the end of class?

That would most certainly have to be Bec. She would really break it down.

What is one lesson from boxing that you carry into everyday life?

The ability to be able to regulate your nervous system under high pressure and chaotic situations is a super power. To be a high level Boxer you need to be able to stay calm and present under pressure.

Who is a boxer, past or present, that inspires you the most?
Vasiliy Lomachenko is the man. I can' think of any other Boxers who have the footwork, the headmovement, the feinting, the punch placement and Boxing IQ this man had. his ability to break his opponents down was the true art of Boxing in my eyes.I was fortunate enough to watch him Box live in Perth, WA.

What motivates you to coach and be part of the Good Vibes community?

If the Good Vibes coaches formed a band, what instrument would you play and which coach would be the lead singer?
I have played guitar for most of my childhood growing up. Or, I'd also rock the kazoo... Now as for the singer... obviously that would have to be our HayHay.

Which coach would win a dance-off at the end of class?
my vote would go for Chaos. I feel he has some dirty moves he's waiting to show us all.

What is one lesson from boxing that you carry into everyday life?

"Doing hard things, make "hard things" easy.

Who is a boxer, past or present, that inspires you the most?
The boxer that inspires me the most right now, would have to be Bivol. The way he composes himself pre fights. The way he boxes, I love his style. The way he trains, and that he just respects the art of boxing. He doesn't fall into the nonsense and the drama.

What motivates you to coach and be part of the Good Vibes community?
What motivates me to coach at Good Vibes, would simply be the level of trust, respect, loyalty and love this place holds. And how much the members give to us as coaches. It never feels like we as coaches have to “give” it always feels as if it’s always a two way street. The members make the coaches.

When you are not in the gym, where are we most likely to find you?
You can't... I am hidden away at home! I do love my introverted self. I like to have my quiet time and space at home, to unwind and relax. I am a homebody at heart. Even though I love being here at the gym with everyone.

If you had to describe your coaching style in three words, what would they be?
Assertive - Expectant - Curious

What is your favourite quote?
"Sometimes the things you're "not doing", are more important than the things you "are doing'.

What would your fight name be?
No fancy rhymes or names. Just V. Keep it simple.

What would your walkout song be?
going old school here with - Kid Rock - Bawitdaba

With my fur babies, dancing, doing new things, learning and reading up on philosophy.

What are you most grateful for?

My mind- my dad passed away from Dementia, it brought a new gratitude for my ability to think, to ponder things, to communicate how I feel.

What you love about being a health and fitness coach?

I love working at the intersection of mind, body and soul. I think we can eat all the Kale we want or be as fit as we can, but if we don’t address where we feel trapped internally, then we will never be truly healthy. Being a mentor in these areas has allowed me to open up deep conversations with clients, where experiencing an inner transformation ends up affecting everything in their life.

Biggest sporting and or coaching achievements in your life to date?

Competing in championship dancing and then having hip surgery which resulted in me not being able to dance anymore. It generated an identity crisis, and opened up how I was hiding behind the attention and affection I got for my dancing, it revealed the hole inside of me where I needed to believe for myself that I am enough as I am. It returned me to dancing other genres for fun, not to prove that I am enough.

Which coach would win a dance-off at the end of class?
It’s a hard call, but I’m envisioning a battle between Ben and Stormy, with Stormy edging a slight victory.

What is one lesson from boxing that you carry into everyday life?
Hard times don’t last. What I mean by that is boxing is a mirror for life. Going through hard sessions is like going through hard times in life. They don’t last, and they make you stronger.

Who is a boxer, past or present, that inspires you the most?
Muhammad Ali. Not only what he did in the ring but what he did outside of it. He stayed true to himself privately and publicly, and he never went against his beliefs.

What motivates you to coach and be part of the Good Vibes community?
I’m motivated by our team and our members. Our team because we’re a family, and I want to show up for my family. I want to be the best version of myself that I can be, to be the best coach I can be for our community.

When you are not in the gym, where are we most likely to find you?
Either at home relaxing, catching up with friends at my favourite cafés, or facilitating breathwork.

If you had to describe your coaching style in three words, what would they be?
Energetic, fun and informative.

What is your favourite quote?
“We suffer more in imagination than in reality.”

What would your fight name be?
Chaos

What would your walkout song be?
Errbody But Me by Tech N9ne or Best Out Here by Kazmaier.

I think I would have to be on the drums making the most noise, and Ben for sure would have to be the lead singer.

Which coach would win a dance-off at the end of class?
Chaos for sure, he's always practicing his moves every chance he can get, he knows how to crip walk better than walk normally.

What is one lesson from boxing that you carry into everyday life?
Resilience and patience. It took me months close to a year to be able to punch someone else and to be punched, especially when your intention is not to hurt them but more of a showcase of skills and power, in a fight scenario. This sport also requires the most amount of patience, particularly when you are introducing a new skill, or learning southpaw, you have to come back to the basics and remember you won't be a master straight away.

Who is a boxer, past or present, that inspires you the most?
I would have to say Alycia Baumgardner, she has fought really hard to be one of the most recognised female boxers in the game, she is clinical, hardworking and is true to her path. She is very honest about her upbringing and doesn't let outside noise derail her.

What motivates you to want to be part of the Good Vibes community?
The start of my boxing journey, at another gym, was quite rough. I had no support from my coach, they were inexperienced, and it felt like the gym just wanted to push as many people as they could to be good enough to fight. From that experience I want to make sure, especially for the women, that they feel supported in starting and feel less alone when getting into the ring as it is quite daunting. Boxing brings up all your insecurities, more so when you're sparring, and all I would want for others is to know that it is normal, and feeling comfortable enough to deal with those emotions head on, will get you through the hard parts of boxing, only because I didn't have anyone to tell me that.

When you are not in the gym, where are we most likely to find you?
I'll either be at uni, working behind a bar on the weekends, with my family, out and about with my dog Daisy, or trying to find the best spicy margarita in Perth.

If you had to describe yourself style in three words, what would they be?
Empathetic, open, and spicy.

What is your favourite quote?
"What you're not changing, you're choosing."

What would your fight name be?
The Tempest.

What would your walkout song be?
Would either be FTCU by Nicki Minaj or Breakin' Dishes by Rihanna.

If the Good Vibes coaches formed a band, what instrument would you play and which coach would be the lead singer?
I’d be on percussion at the back with Chaos, the chaotic setup with a million instruments you have to pick up and put down.
Ben would absolutely be the lead singer, main character energy.
But if I’m being honest?

But if I’m being honest? Bec should be.
V’s on guitar (plugged in, obviously), Tess is full drum kit, and Taryn is bass, very mysterious, but also probably started on the cello.

Which coach would win a dance-off at the end of class?
My ego wants to say me (former professional dancer), but truthfully… Ben.
He’ll be in serious coach mode and then suddenly turn around and start shuffling.
Man has hidden talents.

What is one lesson from boxing that you carry into everyday life?
Boxing taught me that it’s okay to sit in discomfort and fear and still be okay.
The more present and aware you are of your mind, your body, and the people around you, the more grounded, fulfilling, and honest life becomes.

Who is a boxer, past or present, that inspires you the most?
Skye Nicolson.
We have completely different styles, but she’s so solid in what works for her. No secret weapon, just mastery, consistency, and trust in her own body. Even when opponents know her style, she stays composed and effective. There’s something really powerful about that.

What motivates you as a coach to want to be part of the Good Vibes community?
The community, without question.
Good Vibes is a home for everyone. From people who’ve never boxed before to highly experienced fighters. Boxing puts you in a state where you don’t have time to mask or pretend. You just are.
What motivates me most is witnessing those moments where people meet their most authentic selves, sometimes for the first time, or the first time in a long time.

When you are not in the gym, where are we most likely to find you?
Honestly… anywhere. I say yes to life a lot.
Most likely with my husband Jon and our dog Chilli, outdoors somewhere. Or at a sauna/cold plunge. Or op-shopping and thrifting (elite nervous-system regulation).
You might also catch us on a weekly Yo-Chi date, doing conversation cards, or just soaking up the good stuff.

If you had to describe yourself style in three words, what would they be?
Compassionate. Curious. Challenging. High expectations, low pressure. A space where it’s safe to mess up, be real, and grow and where I’ll still push you just beyond your comfort zone.

What is your favourite quote?
“Stay on dry land.”
(Wink if you know.)

What would your fight name be?
(Take a deep breath first because once you start you can’t stop) Storm, Formerly Known as Hailstorm, Sparkle Princess Unicorn and Chaos Adjacent Fairy, Protector of Vibes, Stormborn, Unstoppable and UNDERLORD of the Curiosity Realm.

What would your walkout song be?
Depends on the day:

  • First Fight: Wannabe – Spice Girls
  • Second Fight: bad guy – Billie Eilish
  • Go for a third? Introduction / Nothingness (Alan Watts & Hayden Calnin)
  • Give me the AUX cable? The Hamster Dance.
